Since the first pilot tests began in January 2009, the National Carbon Capture Center has worked on behalf of the U.S. Department Energy to identify promising carbon capture technologies for future commercial deployment. We have become nationally and internationally recognized, hosting developers from seven countries. And through the neutral pilot testing of 70 technologies to date, we have reduced the projected cost of carbon capture by more than 40%.

To mark this accomplishment, in 2019 we published 10 Years of Technology Development, a high-level summary describing the center’s entire portfolio of gasification, pre-combustion and post-combustion carbon capture projects and their results. Read the brochure here.
